We develop web sites primarily under Linux, using the Apache HTTP Server, with dynamic content stored in a MySQL database, and program logic written in PHP or Python. This core set of technologies is referred to as LAMP, and is an industry standard "solution stack" due to its low cost and stability.

We do not, however, use the stability of these components to dismiss the importance of regular backups. In the event of partial or total data loss or corruption, you will have the opportunity to select from a range of backups for both your site files and database.
